Dear Delgado Student;

Steps are being implemented at Delgado Community College to follow a directive from the LCTCS Board of Supervisors approved in March for Strategic Sustainability. Here’s a link to that document:

This plan is a response to the Board’s direction to conduct a thorough review of all operations and develop a path forward focusing on our mission and financial security. Basically, we’re reviewing our programs, scaling back, and considering eliminating those that have low enrollment and high costs. The goal is to be more efficient and to better serve all of our students.

The college has determined that it can no longer support the Associate of General Studies Mass Communication Concentration and Television and Video Production Concentrations. Our faculty and staff will continue to accommodate you, and you may be able to complete the concentration within the General Studies degree that you have started; or, it is possible that you may transition to a revised concentration or new major. We have completed a degree audit for your academic plan to determine the best course of action for you to follow to complete your studies at Delgado.

An advising session will be held, Friday, May 5 at 9:00 am in Building 1 (Isaac Delgado Hall) on the City Park Campus in room 102 E. There will be a team of advisors available to meet with you at that time to discuss the options best suited to your educational and career goals. If you cannot attend please call Amanda Davis at 504-671-6535 to set up a time to meet with an advisor.
