Delgado Registrar To Fix Diploma Debacle

By Leonard “Lenny” Vasbinder

As reported in The Dolphin https://www.facebook.com/TheDolphinNewspaper on Tuesday May 16, 2017, there was a huge typo on hundreds of Spring 2017 diplomas http://delgadodolphin.net/2017/05/huge-typo-on-delgado-diplomas-for-spring-2017-graduates/.

Later Tuesday, an email was sent out, “because the date is wrong, the diploma is invalid,” said DCC Registrar, Maria Cisneros, as part of the email.

According to an Internet search, this type of “accident” is rare but has happened before. as posted here, https://academia.stackexchange.com/questions/66400/wrong-date-in-certificate, here, http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=569299, and here, https://www.reddit.com/r/aggies/comments/36amjp/what_can_i_do_if_my_diploma_has_the_wrong/.

As stated in the email, you should go to the Delgado Community College Registrar’s office, Building 2, Room 202, on Friday May 19, 2017, to get your replacement diploma. If you cannot make it to the Registrar’s office, they will mail you your diploma on Monday, according to the email.
