Top 4 Coffee Shops for students to study for their finals

It’s the last two weeks of the semester. Everything seems to be due at once, and you have a test in every class. There is too much noise, too many interruptions at home, and the Internet is not working. You’ve got to get out of the house, and a coffee shop is a logical place to do so.

These are four favorites, each with a location close to Delgado.


Starbucks seems to be everyone’s favorite. With more than 11,000 stores nationwide, Starbucks is the biggest franchise in the coffee shop industry. Their menu is various enough to convince picky clients for their choices. Pricing in regular Starbucks is in the range for students. And also, almost every single store has Wi-Fi connect with high-speed Internet which is convenient for students to do any research on the Internet. Some may be concerned that it is always overcrowded and noisy. In fact, there are some Starbucks locations with fewer people and a quiet atmosphere especially those in large hotels and business buildings. Recommended locations: Starbucks in Sheraton Hotel on Canal, Starbucks on Harrison, Starbucks on Veterans. Working hours: 5:00/6 a.m. — 9:00/10 p.m. depending on the location.

Puccino’s The Real Coffee of Italy.

Puccino’s is the Italian style coffee shop. There are 7 different locations where you can find a Puccino’s coffee shop in Metairie. If you are a fan of spectacular Italian coffee stuffed with delicious vanilla ice cream, this is the right place for you! Their granita is also worth trying. Unlike Starbucks, Puccino’s atmosphere would be the best for students to study. On the final days of the semester, you will find many students studying in Puccino’s for their upcoming tests. Most locations offer free high-speed Wi-Fi. Their current promotion is Buy one get one free on Tuesday. Working hours: 5:30/6 a.m. — 9:00/10 p.m. depending on the location.

The CC’s Coffee House.

CC’s Coffeehouse is another famous coffee house with more than 20 locations in New Orleans, Westbank and Metairie. CC’s Coffeehouse, originally born in New Orleans in 1995, is known as South Louisiana’s favorite Specialty Coffee House. The atmosphere is quiet and they also offer Free Wi-Fi. Not only students, many people also come there for work on their computers. The price is also a plus which is really reasonable for everyone, and Mochasippi is the best! Some locations are even open until 11:00 at p.m. Working hours: 5:00/6 a.m. — 9:00/10:00/11 p.m. depending on location.

PJ’s Coffee.

As another New Orleans-born coffee shop, PJ’s Coffee was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan. With around 25 different stores in New Orleans area, PJ’s Coffee is also in the top favorite coffee shops in New Orleans. You can easily find one anywhere, there is one on Canal Street which is really close to Delgado Community College. Pricing is reasonable, the atmosphere is not too crowded, and free Wi-Fi is available. Their breakfast menus are also highly recommended. Working hours: 6 a.m. — 9 p.m. or different depending on location.
