Every year one of the biggest festivals rolls into New Orleans, with their outstanding cook-offs and memorable fundraisers. A hog for the Cause is a nonprofit, annual fundraising music festival and barbecue competition. The event lasts for two days and is set for March 30 — April 1 2017 at the University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena Grounds on Leon C. Simon Dr.
The Hogs side is a huge cookout in which various teams compete in seven different categories of barbecue madness (Whole Hog, Fan favorite, Fundraising champion, Porkpourri, Sauce, Pork Butt/Shoulder, and Ribs).
The cause side is all about fundraising for families with children fighting pediatric brain cancer. They raise the money through ticket sales, direct donations, food sales, sponsorships, and by teams participating in the barbecue competition.
The 9th annual Hogs for the Cause is one you won’t want to miss. So, grab your families and do some donating, while enjoying tons of barbecue dishes prepared by the best of the best. For more information and to purchase tickets visit: https://www.hogsforthecause.org/
