Here in the United States, Valentine’s Day is a day for not only couples and spouses, but also singles who are celebrating being in the most important relationship of all, that with oneself! Most people stress over this holiday because they think it must be movie perfect. But what’s more perfect than a day where you treat yourself? If you’re completely and utterly lost, here are a few suggestions to help you along.

  1. If you or your sweetie likes sailing and champagne, then this experience is one to consider. At 7:00 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 14, the Creole Queen paddle wheeler is offering a romantic river cruise with buffet, open call brand bar and a DJ playing classic love songs to set the mood. You will also get a free glass of champagne when you board.
  2. If you’re prepared to drop some money on dinner and a concert: A Valentine’s Day music festival featuring Keith Sweat, Bobby Brown, and El DeBarge at the UNO Lakefront arena Saturday Feb. 11, 8 p.m.
  3. For those who are single, get your friends together so you can eat and drink your way across the city. Make sure you have a reservation or go to a restaurant without reservations (be prepared to wait). If you’re looking for a more chill night some places to try in Mid-City: Mid-City Pizza, this casual pizza place has a great collection of beers and by far the best pizza and bar food in mid-city, 4400 Banks St, New Orleans, LA 70119. MOPHO, A trendy spot for Vietnamese fare (including pho) with a Creole influence, plus bubble-tea cocktails, 514 City Park Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119. Twelve Mile Limit, this easygoing watering hole has a pool table, board games, record nights and a patio offering cocktails, beer and the best BBQ around, 500 S Telemachus St, New Orleans, LA 70119.
  4. All you anti-Valentine’s Day folks out there: Order the best take-out and binge watch your favorite films. Take a day to yourself in the comfort of your own home. Some of the best delivery food around can be found using the Uber Eats App. Feel free to where your most comfy pajama’s and treat yourself to some chocolate.
