There will be penalty for not having health insurance. If you don’t have health coverage in 2016, you will penalized and have to pay $695 per person or more for the year. You may qualify for financial help to make the monthly payments more affordable. Some people have found monthly premiums for $75 dollars or less per month. Having health insurance is now the law. If you choose to be without health insurance coverage in 2016 you will have to pay a penalty when you file your 2016 taxes.
