Delgado Theatre Production “The Skin of Our Teeth” Scheduled April 14-18

Skin of Our Teeth

New Orleans, La. — The Delgado Community College Theatre Program announces their latest production, The Skin of Our Teeth, by Thornton Wilder.

“We came through the Depression by the skin of our teeth,” exclaims Sabina at the beginning of Thornton Wilder’s 1943 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Skin of Our Teeth. Audiences across the world have delighted in this wacky outlook at man’s existence and humanity, sometimes described as a “cosmic allegory.” The Antrobus family lives in Excelsior, New Jersey with their pet dinosaur and mammoth. They persevere when faced with basic questions of survival and the relationship of man and his universe while encountering the Ice Age, the Flood, and a World War, among other disasters.

Join in the fun as this delightful play entertains audiences at Delgado Community College starting April 14.

Directed by Casey Groves, the cast is composed of Delgado students and students from Grace King High School. Sets and Lights are designed by Tom Dawson and costume design is by Kerry Fitts.

The play opens Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Delgado Drama Hall: 615 City Park Ave. (3rd Floor), City Park Campus. The production will run one week only: Tuesday, April 14 through Sunday, April 19. Curtain times for Tuesday-Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee on April 19 is at 3 p.m. (closing performance).

Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 Delgado students and seniors. For reservations and/or additional information, call 504-671-6360.
