“RUNNING OF THE SANTAS” SPREADS HOLIDAY JOY WHILE AIDING MILITARY FAMILIES

Registration for partygoers now underway for Popular Costumed Christmastime Event on December 13

(New Orleans, LA) – The streets of downtown New Orleans will glow with vibrant and colorful Christmas costumes on Saturday, December 13, when the Fourth Annual “Running of the Santas” strolls through the Big Easy. The“Running of the Santas” is growing in popularity and creativity in New Orleans. This year event organizers expect to have more than 3,000 costumed participants draped as Santa, Mrs. Claus, Scrooge, Jingle Bells, Jack Frost, Old Man Winter and so many more.

The popular costume-inspired event kicks off at 3 PM with live music all night long by Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Category 6. This year’s “South Pole” is at Barcadia Bar / Restaurant / Arcade at 601 Tchoupitoulas Street where guests can enjoy great food, holiday drinks and special entertainment. The crowds then embark on a seven block “fun run” at 6:00 PM to the “North Pole” at Generations Hall at 310 Andrew Higgins Drive.

Organizers of the holiday extravaganza are challenging participants to push their creative genius to the limit and think outside the box. The person who successfully achieves this will receive an award for the coveted “Best Holiday Costume.”

Tickets to the “Running of the Santas” are now available at www.runningofthesantas.com. General admission tickets are $15, and VIP tickets are $75 which include an open bar at Generations Hall from 6:30 – 10:00 PM.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit That Others May Live Foundation. The foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2002. The foundation provides scholarships, family counseling, and aid to surviving children of United States Air Force (USAF) Rescue Heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice during a rescue mission. The goal of the program is to ensure that every child of a fallen personnel recovery service member receives an opportunity for success.
