“Cannibal Holocaust” coming to Chalmette Movies for three-day engagement.

One of the most controversial films of all time is coming to the New Orleans area for a special three-day engagement.  Just in time for Halloween, Italian filmmaker Ruggero Deodato’s legendary 1980 horror classic, “Cannibal Holocaust” will be screened at Chalmette Movies. This movie, banned in many countries, has inspired a host of imitators such as Umberto Lenzi’s “Cannibal Ferox” released the following year. Eli Roth’s “The Green Inferno,” a homage to Deodato’s film, was scheduled for release in September but has been put on hold indefinitely. “Cannibal Holocaust” has been both lauded and reviled for its realism and fans of blood, gore, and Italian horror movies can catch this one-of-a-kind classic in all its uncut, uncensored glory while they can.

Screening at Chalmette Movies from Friday Oct. 24 until Sunday Oct. 26 at 9:30 P.M.

No one under 17 will be admitted.
