Big game from Davis lifts the Pelicans over the Rockets

The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Houston Rockets Oct. 14 in a preseason blowout with a final score of 117-98. Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots in only 31 minutes of play.

 In their first preseason game in the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, the Pelicans came out hot in the first half scoring thirty-three points in the first and second quarter. Davis scored 13 points in the first quarter and finished the half with 16 points.

Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon  performed well for the Pelicans. Gordon scored 15 points and Holiday contributed 14 points. They both also combined in 8 assists for the game.

The only starter for the Houston Rockets to reach double digits was Kostas Papanikolaou who scored 13 points.

Former Houston Rockets center Omer Asik finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the Pel’s.

Anderson, Babbitt and Fredette continued their streak of three-pointers, each making 3 three-pointers and scoring in double figures for the game.

Houston Rockets Dwight Howard and James Harden did not play Tuesday night because of injuries.
