Pelicans Hawks Basketball -3

The New Orleans Pelicans lose against the Atlanta Hawks 93-87 in their second game of the preseason. The Pelicans nearly made a comeback late in the game with the help of Ryan Anderson 14 points but their momentum was shut down by John Jenkins 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.

Atlanta Hawks John Jenkins led the team with 13 points and recorded 6 rebounds for the game.

New Orleans guards Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday seemed solid against Atlanta. Gordon scored 12 points and Holiday who seemed non-existent against the Heat, scored 13 points for New Orleans.

Overall the Atlanta Hawks shot 41.9 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three point range. While the Pelicans shot below 40 percent on both categories.

Atlanta’s big first half lead was too much for the Pelicans to overcome.

The positive for the Pelicans is that Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday seem to be getting back into game speed since their eight month recovery.
