Anthony “The Brow” Davis first half domination

The New Orleans Pelicans’ offensive domination in the first half of Oct. 20 preseason game helped them defeat the Washington Wizards 88-86. Anthony Davis showed off his shooting ability early in the game going 5 for 5 from the field and finishing the first quarter with 10 points.

The Pel’s had a 14-point advantage at the end of the first quarter. Davis ended the night with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. He did not play in the fourth quarter because he sprained his right wrist the third quarter.

Nakia Hogan of The Times-Picayune reports,”Davis says his injury is nothing serious.”“It’s all good,” Davis said. “I went up for a lob and came down on it. I’m fine,” Davis said.

Beginning in the second quarter, the shooting was off the mark but the ball movement was good. Tyreke Evans had 7 assists at the end of the game, six of them coming from the first half. He also added 10 points for the night.

Ryan Anderson did not hit a three-pointer for the game, but played the mid-range game well. He shot 5-11 from the field tallying up 11 points.

The Wizards did not play point guard John Wall and they also rested forward Paul Pierce who suffered from a bruised knee.

The Wizards made a strong push in the fourth quarter, led by their fourth year center Kevin Seraphin, the Wizards cut the Pelicans 29-point lead down to 3 points with only 18 seconds left to play. But the Wizards failed to get the lead.

Seraphin finished with 14 points, scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter.

The New Orleans Pelicans (4-2) will play against the Dallas Mavericks (3-3) at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier, LA on Thursday, Oct. 23.
