The New Orleans Pelicans win big at home 120-86 against a depleted OKC Thunder team. Anthony Davis scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Pelicans in their second straight win.

The Pel’s went on a 10-0 run early in the first quarter to extend a 21-6 lead. Davis led the first quarter with 9 points and the Pelicans scored a total of 36 points to finish the quarter.

Coming onto the court to play his first preseason game, Tyreke Evans contributed 10 points and 7 assists. Evans right hamstring was injured in a pickup game during the offseason. Supposedly he was projected to be out three to five weeks but made a fast recovery.

Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday both reached double figures. Anderson shot 7-13 from the field and made 3 three-pointers to have a total of 17 points. Holiday had 14 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals.

The Thunder only played nine players in the game. All the starters were either resting or injured.

Thunder guard Jeremy Lamb led the OKC with 20 points in 42 minutes of play.

New Orleans never gave up the lead and they outscored the Thunder in every quarter. The Pel’s shot 55.4 percent from the field and shot 43.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Pelicans guard Eric Gordon did not play because of lower back spasms that been troubling him throughout his NBA career.
